House of Light adheres to the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy’s Code of Ethics (BACP), and also the Data Protection Act (1998). All Information is regarded as confidential and kept secure. There are however some exceptional circumstances to confidentiality and these are:

• If you are contemplating suicide we are trained to deal with this, however if after discussion we still feel that you are at risk then we reserve the right to contact your GP.
• If you are at risk of harm to yourself or others.
• Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (2005).

House of Light staff do have regular Professional Supervision to ensure we are offering the best care possible. Cases will be discussed but a client is never identified.
