What is it?

What is it? - Postnatal depression or PNI as it is now more commonly known affects 1:7 women after giving birth. Sometimes there is no obvious reason for it to happen, and it can strike anyone regardless of age, race, background etc. It is believed that it could be due to the dramatic change in hormones following pregnancy and birth. Treatments

Treatments - PND will eventually resolve, however this can take months even years. The earlier treatment is obtained the swifter the recovery. Treatment varies from woman - woman, for some talking may be enough. Counselling is known to be very effective. Many others also require medication - antidepressants. In severe cases tranquillisers and anti psychotic medication may be used... more >>>
